Every aspiring and talented student deserves the chance to become an exceptional engineer. The 3-Dreams foundation is dedicated to bring a systemic change by addressing the triple barrier of engineering skills & training education, mentorship opportunity by peers and professionals and access to opportunities, with the overarching goal of strengthening the engineering ecosystem!
The initiative seeks to achieve this by building a dedicated ‘makerspace’, equipped with 3-D printers and IT hardware for students to involve themselves with hands-on learning and practical exploration. To support their educational journey, a YouTube series, ‘The 3-Dreams Digital Library’ will help students engage in self-paced learning, covering software fundamentals and guide troubleshooting. To encourage education with practice and experimentation, an illustrated activity book is developed to help students hone their skills through step by step guide in familiarising themselves with softwares and models.
To develop a career interest among students, a series of webinars with seasoned professionals is planned to help students explore career paths through shadowing opportunities and provide remedial guidance to aspiring engineering students.
To further supplement the initiative, a peer mentor manual will be drafted with the goal of educating mentors with the required knowledge to give effective learning. The manual focuses on simple explainers, guided instructions and culturally aware learning facilitation. A volunteer peer network in collaboration with Harrodian School is also in the works to help students from underserved communities with foundational engineering skills and problem solving
